Welcome to the Fifth Third Bank Entrepreneurship Institute (EI) at Northern Kentucky University. If you have found this letter, you, or someone who is important to you, has probably had a strong urge or at least a little inclination to start and run a business. The EI at NKU is designed to help you scratch that itch – and be successful at it.
How do we define success in entrepreneurship? Success is realizing your dreams without losing your life savings. How do we enable you to do that? We coordinate your hard work and ability to learn with the capabilities of our highly qualified and energized faculty and staff, as well as entrepreneurs, alumni, business and government leaders.
As a student in the EI program, you will learn how to grow from yearning and considering to pursuing and thriving in an entrepreneurial or business venture. Should you determine that developing more skills before launching your own venture is a good route for you, the EI provides access to many employers who hire our students and graduates. You will have access to professors with a deep and broad knowledge of the domestic and international business environment, established entrepreneurs who have learned through experience and industry professionals committed to mentor young people toward their dreams.
We know that learning in the classroom is improved when students are deeply engaged in the subject they study. This engagement is ignited by educators who are passionate about the subjects they teach and fanatical about the success of their students. It is further provoked and enriched by the integration of the classroom with experiences on many levels. At NKU we provide these in the form of internships, mentorships, competitions, student clubs, events and monthly round-table discussions with entrepreneurs and business leaders from every imaginable walk of life. As you look through this website you will learn more about all of these experiences.
Every day, the EI at NKU taps the talents of a large and growing group of entrepreneurs, professors and business people who believe in our students and the learning that goes on here. Come, be one of us, experience success.
