NKU CEO InOneWeekend Thoughts
Who: Open to all NKU students, faculty, and staff. The goal is to have a good mix of creative ideas and diverse backgrounds.
What: A weekend event to create a viable participant-driven business start-up.
When: March 27-28, 2009 (Friday and Saturday)
Where: NKU Student Union

Northern Kentucky University’s Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (NKUCEO) will be hosting an innovation event on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28, 2009. NKUCEO is currently looking for other NKU students and student organizations to help with the process and creation of a successful business to operate out of the new dorm space in Callahan Hall.
InOneWeekend, a local entrepreneurial business organization, works in communities around the world to produce periodic events that not only build a company in a weekend, but also create an enduring network of innovation and entrepreneurship. They connect passion with success. They believe that new ideas come to fruition faster when the creative minds and enthusiastic leaders of tomorrow can brainstorm and collaborate with the successful entrepreneurs of yesterday. InOneWeekend will facilitate the event, offer professional feedback and advice, and fund a small portion of the weekend. NKU students will do the rest.
We will hold prep sessions to generate ideas, town hall meetings to collaborate and decide on an idea. In addition, students will split up into teams focusing on each department of the company, (finance, operations, marketing, accounting, management, etc.)
Details about InOneWeekend:
InOneWeekend is an innovative and entrepreneurial organization that (among other things) hosts open format weekend events that create viable participant-driven start-ups that are launched ‘in one weekend.’
The weekend (March 27-28) is a low commitment, low cost, high return, highly awesome event that allows like-minded, diversely experienced individuals to create an elevating experience and quite possibly, the next big thing.
Everyone who participates in the weekend will have a stake in the resulting start-up. All ownership, intellectual property, and confidentiality matters are addressed in the Participant Agreement on the InOneWeekend website (www.inoneweekend.org).
